Purpose of the PGSO
To promote the quality of the philosophy department in general and the philosophy graduate students in particular through bringing in top philosophers from other departments and sending our best students to conferences and other departments.
We pursue this goal by trying to provide funds to reimburse travel expenses for students presenting papers and we try to secure funding for colloquia in addition to departmental colloquia.
